The Bloch Sparkle Ballet Shoes take the familiar shape of a children's ballet slipper and cover it in shimmering pink sparkle, creating a magical little shoe for dressing up, dancing around the house, parties, performances and children who simply love everything ballet.
Underneath all that glitter is surprisingly traditional ballet-shoe construction, including a full suede leather outsole, soft cotton lining, fabric insole, pre-sewn elastic and an adjustable elastic drawstring. Think of this style first as a fun ballet-inspired shoe rather than our choice for regular ballet class.
Made for Little Dancers Who Love a Little Sparkle
The Bloch Sparkle shoe has all the visual magic a tiny ballerina could ask for. The pink glitter upper catches the light beautifully, while the classic ballet-slipper shape, delicate front bow and elastic strap keep it unmistakably ballet inspired.
And it isn't just a costume shoe. Bloch has built it around genuine ballet-slipper construction, with a full suede leather outsole underneath and soft cotton lining inside. The pre-sewn elastic stretches across the instep to help keep the shoe securely on little feet, while the elastic drawstring allows the opening to be gently adjusted.
For us, though, the sparkle is the story. This is the pair for the child who puts on a tutu simply because it's Tuesday, turns the kitchen into a stage and thinks every good pirouette deserves a little glitter.

Ballet Shoe or Dress-Up Shoe?
A little bit of both - but we'd choose it mainly for the fun.
The Bloch Sparkle isn't simply a ballet-shaped slipper. It has many of the features found in a traditional children's ballet shoe, including a full suede outsole, cotton lining, pre-sewn instep elastic and adjustable drawstring.
However, if your child is beginning regular ballet lessons, we recommend checking their dance school's uniform requirements before choosing this pair. Most ballet schools specify the style, material and colour of shoes children should wear for class, exams and performances.
For ballet class?
Check with the teacher first and choose the ballet shoe required by the school.
For ballet play?

How should the Bloch Sparkle fit?
The Bloch Sparkle S0291G fits small. For this particular style, our current fitting experience recommends beginning approximately 1 UK size above the child's everyday shoe size.
The toes should be able to lie naturally inside the shoe without curling or feeling compressed. A little comfortable room is fine for a growing child, but avoid so much excess length that the foot slides around inside the shoe.
Fit Tip: The elastic drawstring can gently refine the opening around the foot, but don't pull it excessively tight to compensate for a shoe that is too large.

The Bloch Sparkle has genuine ballet-slipper construction underneath all that glitter, but we love it most for what it brings to the fun side of dance: dressing up, imaginative ballet play, little performances and spontaneous twirls around the house.
For regular ballet training, we'd choose the shoe recommended by your child's teacher. For making a little ballet fan very happy? This one's easy.
